Who we are

1st Class Driving School (also known as Apka Desi Driving School) is a driving school based at 804 Monroe Dr, Harleysville, PA 19438, with a second branch at 501 Washington Street, Reading, PA 19601. Information we collect

Information you give us

When you call, text, WhatsApp, email, or book with us, we may collect:

Your name and phone number
Your email address, if you email us
The town where you'd like lessons and your preferred language
The lesson package you're interested in and anything you tell us about your driving experience
Your pickup address, once you schedule lessons
Learner's permit or license details where PennDOT rules require us to check them

Booking works directly with us: you send a request by phone, WhatsApp, or the form on our contact page; we agree the time with you personally, and your booking is confirmed once payment is received. Card payments happen on Stripe's secure checkout pages — we never see or store your card number. Zelle payments go bank-to-bank. We do not use any external booking platform.

When you submit the "Request a call back" form, two things happen. First, it opens WhatsApp on your device with your details pre-filled — nothing is sent on that channel until you press send yourself. Second, the details you entered (name, phone, email if given, town, preferred language, package, notes, and your consent choice) are saved to a secure lead list we control, so we can follow up on your request. With the consent you give on the form, we may also contact you with occasional offers by call, WhatsApp, text message, or email. Every such message includes a way to opt out — reply STOP to any text, use the unsubscribe line in any email, or just tell us — and we stop. We never sell or share this list.

Information collected automatically

This website is a static site and does not profile visitors itself. Our hosting provider keeps standard, short-lived server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) for security and reliability, as virtually all web hosts do. We may use Google Analytics or Google Tag Manager to understand which pages help visitors most, and Google AdSense to show advertising; when enabled, these Google services set their own cookies and process visitor data under Google's policies. How we use your information

To respond to your inquiry and schedule your lessons
To arrange free door-to-door pickup and provide our services
To take payment for lessons you book
To meet PennDOT and other legal requirements that apply to driving instruction
To answer questions and provide customer support
To ask, after your lessons, whether you'd like to leave a review — you can always say no

We do not send marketing newsletters, and we never use your information for automated decision-making or profiling.

Legal bases for processing (GDPR)

If you contact us from the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR / UK GDPR) gives your information extra protection. We rely on these legal bases:

Performance of a contract — using your details to schedule and deliver the lessons you book
Legitimate interests — responding to inquiries, keeping basic business records, and protecting our website
Legal obligation — records that PennDOT, tax, or accounting rules require us to keep
Consent — anything optional, such as a review request; you can withdraw consent at any time

We are a Pennsylvania business and our services are provided in the United States, so information you send us is processed in the US. If you contact us from the EEA or UK, you do so knowing your information will be transferred here; we protect it as described in this policy regardless of where you live.

How we share information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information — ever. We share it only:

With your instructor, so they know who to pick up, where, and in which language to teach
With service providers that make the website and booking work (see the next section)
When the law requires it — for example, a valid legal request from a government authority

Third-party services we use

Some things you do on this site are handled by other companies under their own privacy policies:

WhatsApp (Meta Platforms, Inc.) — if you message us on WhatsApp, or use our contact form (which opens WhatsApp), your message is delivered under WhatsApp's privacy policy.
Google (Google LLC) — our review links go to Google Maps, governed by Google's privacy policy. Appointments themselves are arranged directly with us, not through any Google booking service.
Stripe, Inc. — if you pay by card, checkout happens on Stripe's own pages under Stripe's privacy policy. Stripe processes your card details; we receive only confirmation of payment, the amount, and the name/contact you enter at checkout.
Zelle and your bank — if you pay by Zelle, the transfer is processed by your bank and Zelle under their own terms. We never see or store your bank credentials.
Our web host — serves this website and keeps the standard server logs described above.

Data retention

We keep your information only as long as we need it: inquiry details until your question is resolved, lesson and payment records for as long as tax, accounting, and PennDOT rules require, and no longer. When information is no longer needed, we delete it.

How we protect your information

We keep the personal information we hold to a minimum, restrict access to the people who need it to teach your lessons, and use reputable providers for the website, booking, and messaging. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable and appropriate measures to protect your details, and we will notify you and the relevant authorities of a data breach where the law requires it.

Your privacy rights

Wherever you live, you can always ask us to:

Access — tell you what personal information we hold about you and give you a copy
Correct — fix information that is wrong or out of date
Delete — erase your information, unless the law requires us to keep it
Stop contacting you — opt out of any follow-up messages at any time

Additional rights for EEA and UK visitors (GDPR)

Under the GDPR you also have the right to restrict or object to our processing, the right to data portability, and the right to withdraw consent at any time. If you believe we have mishandled your information, you can complain to your local data protection supervisory authority — though we'd appreciate the chance to resolve it directly first.

Additional rights for US state residents

Some US states (including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, and others) give residents rights to know, delete, correct, and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information for advertising as those laws define it, and we honor the rights above for every visitor, regardless of state.

Children and teen learners

Many of our students are teens with a valid Pennsylvania learner's permit. For students under 18, we require a parent or guardian to make the booking and provide their own contact details, and we communicate scheduling and payment matters with the parent or guardian. This website is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them; if you believe a child under 13 has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Do Not Track

Because this site does not track visitors across the web, there is nothing for a "Do Not Track" browser signal to disable — the answer is already "we don't."

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will post the new version here and update the "Last updated" date at the top. Meaningful changes will be flagged clearly on this page.
